Life is just full - check it out: Evan is into a spring "Club" basketball league, so I am carpooling him down to San Luis 3 times a week for that. He rocks in basketball, so I want to support him any way I can. My mantra is just drive. I am trying to potty train Dolly. hmmm. It is not going as fast as I would like. I am changing my diet....no meat or dairy. It just evolved out of feeling crappy and I am sick of it. I think diet may have had a lot to do with it. So, it is very experimental, but I don't miss meat or dairy a bit. I am having fun being creative with my meals, as to get proper protein, vit. B's, iron, etc. and loosing weight as a benefit is always good. Gevrey is involved with a local youth group and has been doing a lot of community service projects lately. She also wants a tattoo, ear plugs, and all the rings you can think of. ugh. I'll get the tattoo with her when she is 18! Matt is taking her to Paris for Spring Break. I told Evan that he & I could learn to surf, mountain bike, hike, but he just doesn't want to hang out with ma. When did I get so uncool? He is planning a belated b-day party this weekend with his buddies and they are doing a huge airsoft war. I am going to steal the donught cake idea that I saw on Becky's blog. too cute. Check out the winery on facebook under JanKris. Adri, I saw you were a fan. Someday, I will post photos of the winery. It is gorgeous. Matt just hired an Australian wine maker. He is still on the road alot. I have just come to peace with it. Brad is still hangin' and working at the winery and breakin' all the girls hearts. It must be tough to be 23 and male. I miss all my family too much. Oh yeah, I am planting a garden this spring, well actually this weekend. It is just time to grow my own food. Wish me luck!

This is our newest addition to the family. She is Gevrey's new baby and I get to be her nanny while Gev is at school. She is the most lovable, fun, crazy, puppy. She has no fear of the German Shepards and is always wrestling with them. I saw her biting Bosco's tail and he was just walking, dragging her along behind. It was too cute. It is amazing how a little furry friend can bring so much joy to your life. I so in love with Dolly!

Matt's birthday surprise

For Matt's 50th birthday, we went to Mexico and I surprised him with the house being done! Well, the builder and I. It was a great, relaxing trip and neither one of us wanted to come home. I don't know what it is, but we have the greatest time down there. It was totally awesome to stay in the home and it turned out absolutely gorgeous!

Matt's Dad died tonight. He was in the hospital for a couple weeks and progressively got worse. We flew up and saw him yesterday and got to tell him we loved him. It was a gift. He will be missed...

Karlovy Vary (Carlsbad SpaTown)

We took a trip off to the country side to check out this town and enjoy some of the mineral waters and thermal treatments. It was so melting-ly relaxing.:) I love mineral waters. Your skin is so soft afterward and your body so happy to be soaking in those yummy minerals. This town is a huge Russian tourist spot. That aspect was interesting, we finally got our Russsian waitress to smile at us at the end of our meal, boy did we have to work hard at it though. It was a fun experience, plus I got a cool cup. Everyone was walking around with them, sippin' on their hot spring water. It was an hour from the German border, so there was quite an influence of Germans too.

So I loooooovvvvve mineral springs and natural mineral water. This water on the other hand was so terrible tasting that I called it butthole springs. I still drank it though. It is renown for healing the digestive system and curing diseases. Well, I am so for that!

This was the Romanian Embassy and they were having a huge Christmas party upstairs. The windows were open and you could hear the violins and dancing and partying going on from the street. I just wanted to be invited up so bad. It sounded so amazing.

So Prague is the place to buy Garnet, and our pharmacist (who travels all over the world) told us that she always regretted not getting a piece of garnet jewelry there. So with that in mind, I set out not to regret the same thing. Here is Matt with my garnet earrings.....oh, my heart just melted. I love them.

Struck up a conversation with some people (behind me) from Norway. It is fun to meet people from all over the world when you travel. He was fascinated that I was American Indian. whatever.

I'm not a big beer drinker, but the Czech Republic is right up there with Germany for brewing beer so I had to try it. I couldn't even finish half of it, but I did end up buying Beer & Hops shampoo from a botanical store and my hair is loving it!

My Surprise Birthday

Matt surprised me with an amazing party for my big 4-0 birthday. We had it at Villa Toscana in the wine country. A beautiful hotel and winery, with vineyards. It was beautiful and I was so touched by all the people that made it there for me. Thanks everyone! There was a band so we just had fun drinking and dancing and being very silly. It was the best party, I won't forget it. Plus, I got to see my good friend Emily, from ages ago, it was amazing to reconnect! Luv you guys!

I'm Back

We just added some more memory to our computer so it is moving along fast now and I can actually stand to post pictures!!!! I will do it tomorrow. I'm burnt out from facebook posting. I do have some exciting photos to share. Life has been a whirlwind since Nov. and I am honestly just catching up. Holidays were amazing. Simple. Christmas & New Years were the best we have ever had. Don't know if we are finally letting go of expectations, but there was minimal stress. yea. Sending love and hugs to all my family and friends.

Do you ever feel like you get sucked into the holidays and it just owns you instead of it just being a time to enjoy. I keep reminding myself that I do the presents because I want to, not because I have to. It kinda sounds nice to not do presents. What would the holidays be like if it were just simple. hmmmmm. I absolutely love it when the apples are ready to harvest. I live to pick apples!!! I wish you guys were here to have them, as I have baskets and baskets and baskets of them (7 trees worth)!

So, I did not prune this year and boy have I learned that pruning in a necessity. The branches are too long and snapping, the apples are very small and dropping. I keep getting this image that when life is tough, it is just pruning and we need it if we are going to have healthy fruit in our life.
